A fantastic opportunity to view some international artwork
When you think of things to see in Cornwall, it’s normally the countryside, the beaches and the art that inhabits the restaurants, galleries, shops and hotels.
Well if it’s art you’re after then this is an exhibition not to be missed. Artist Ashley Hanson brings you “The New York Trilogy”. Running throughout the month at the Castle Bude and open daily from 10am till 4pm. You can marvel in the works of this talented artist.
After years of struggling for ideas for a painting about New York, Hanson found his inspiration from ‘The New York Trilogy’, Paul Auster’s deconstruction and re-invention of the detective novel. In all the paintings in the series, the intention is to involve the viewer.
Alongside the ‘City of Glass’ paintings, there will be several paintings from his ‘Americascapes’ series, motivated by a series of train journeys made around the USA (after being awarded a travel scholarship from the Slade School of Art.)
